About Us

Fiona Thomas has had a passion for the style and tradition of the English high tea since she first lived in London in the late 1980’s and enjoyed a sumptuous ‘tea at The Ritz’.  Since that time, Fiona has read many books on the subject and began collecting what is known in the antiques and collectables industry as a ‘harlequin’ vintage china tea set in a pastel-coloured palette (containing everything from beautiful three-tiered cake stands to teapots and silver cutlery).

Fiona developed a flair for creating unique and memorable events for friends and family over the years and Antiquitea is the culmination of her experience and knowledge.  Now everyone can enjoy the charm and style of an ‘afternoon tea at The Ritz‘ in their very own home, place of business or venue of their choice!

Since first starting Antiquitea in August 2009, Fiona has helped many a delighted host co-ordinate the most exquisite high tea events for their friends, family and colleagues!

Our name comes from the word ‘antiquity’ which, loosely translated, means ‘the cultures of ancient times; customs from days gone by’.

Fiona wants to not only bring back the lost art of the English high tea but also that of customer service.  It is her priority to ensure the Antiquitea customer receives an exceptional and reliable service – which exceeds all of their expectations and, in turn, creates a wonderful and unique experience that their guests will still be talking about in years to come.

Bev Wilkinson joined the Antiquitea team after attending one of our high teas for a friend’s 50th birthday!  Since that time, she has thoroughly enjoyed working at many of our high tea events.

Bev is not only a fellow ’lover of high tea’ and a collector of all things vintage and feminine, she is also the talented creator of some our beautiful handmade, vintage-style crafts such as our garden party bunting, children’s tea napkins and our surprise gifts for our lucky birthday girls!  Bev has also recently started making the most divine vintage-style lavender drawer and wardrobe sachets which are now featured in our Giftware Selection and are perfect for tea party prizes!

Bev is passionate about everything she does and is a real asset to Antiquitea - we are so pleased to have her as part of our team.
